One is Luca the other Orlando...

He finally had a GOOD look around once we got home.
He obviously wasnt interested in the bland and uninspiring hospital.
That must be why the food trolley dollys are so thick, their brains have gone numb.
Jeez they annoyed me.

There is more to Luca's name than just an Italian name that Aussies wont butcher too much.
Orlando was almost called Luca but a few chance encounters, one with a street sign in Coffs Harbour, also Laura has a cousin in Italy who is in his seventies called Orlando, so the family history and these random encounters sealed Orlandos name.
But Luca was always there this time around and when nothing else fitted my conditions, aussies can say it, he wont get bashed up at school because of it, people can spell it after hearing it once and it sounded ok with a Welsh surname.
But wait theres more......
I have been told it is a bit daggy but oh well I like stories with significance.
In 1994 I bought a 1971 Holden white ute for 150 bucks. I have never been a ute person but I just had to have the number plates LUE-711.
I remember about 1986 when the number plates were up to L and there was a bit of talk amongst the group of people who twice a year every year went to Lue Station at Lue.
We all thought WOW LUE will be on number plates soon....cooooool.
I wonder if we will ever see one?
The next time we came back to Lue just about everyone in the town had LUE plates! And that means there was probably over 50!
We stayed in 100 year old Shearers quarters with no electicity for up to 2 weeks at a time and best of all spent as much time as we could tearing around the 10 000 acres on motorbikes. As far as growing up goes it doesnt get any better so that is why the number plate held such significance.
So.....my last name starts with E and Luca brings his initials two thirds the way to LUE.......
And his middle name is.......
OK it starts with U but I need a story and meaning behind everything.
Type into Google names starting with U.......there is about 10 most pretty bad like Uday (Hussain!)
There is 1 Italian name, Umberto, which I like but with my best accent I stuff it up 5 out of 10 attempts.
Saying it in Aussie is just wrong.
About 8 years ago Tiff got a cat and called it Ulee, I loved the name and that was that.
When we were looking for names for Orlando Laura just couldnt cope with a cats name, even though it wasn't really.
It came from the movie Ulee's Gold with Peter Fonda as Ulee, a cool guy, so whats the problem?
The Gold refers to honey from bees so no bad associations there, NO it's a CATS name! was the final word.
Along comes Luca and the LUE fixation.....
I never agreed to Luca being definitely his name, playing my cards close to my chest, keeping the ace up my sleeve AKA bargaining power......
You can have Luca if I can have Ulee.
To cut a long discussion short she agreed but on Ulee's full name, Ulysses.
Interestingly in the movie Ulee needs to go to the city of Orlando, so for me it was a neat little circle.
